Overview of Practical Examination
The 10th class Biology practical examination carries 30 total marks and is conducted over 2 hours. The paper is divided into five main sections, each testing different practical skills and knowledge areas.
Question 1: Temporary Mount Preparation (06 Marks)
Students must prepare a temporary mount of a provided specimen and draw a labelled diagram. The four important slides to practice are:
Onion Epidermis – Study of plant cells showing cell wall, nucleus, and cytoplasm
Frog Blood – Observation of nucleated red blood cells in vertebrates
Cheek Cells – Animal cell structure with cell membrane and nucleus
Stomata in Lower Epidermis – Guard cells and stomatal pore structure

Question 2: Identification of Specimens (10 Marks)
Students are given five specimens (A to E) which could be slides, models, or actual specimens. For each, they must provide identification and reasoning.
